MECA’s Out of School Time Program provides youth a safe environment and constructive activities outside of regular school hours. Students in this program can participate in a variety of fine arts classes and attend workshops with master artists. This program takes place at MECA campuses, Houston-area schools, churches, apartment complexes, and other community centers. Additionally, all students enrolled in the Out of School Time Program are eligible to receive free social support services such as tutoring and counseling. This program is tuition based and program costs are often supplemented by private donors, corporations, foundations, and state and federal funding channeled through groups like the Harris County Department of Education.
